Twice a year we open our buildings to house homeless families through Family Promise – once in the summer and also during the week of Christmas.

Family Promise Mission & Programs

The mission of Family Promise of Las Vegas is to offer homeless families the opportunity to achieve housing stability by providing short term shelter, meals, case management and hospitality. Family Promise is a cooperative effort that addresses the needs of homeless families by utilizing resources within local congregations and the community.  Families in our program receive a full complement of resources and training as they work towards their own independence and self-sufficiency.

Emergency Shelter: Host Congregations

Families entering our program first stay as the guests of congregations throughout Las Vegas. These houses of faith open their doors to provide a bed for the evening, a warm supper and cold breakfast/lunch, and the hospitality of a loving community.

Support Congregations

Support Congregations, while not hosting families directly, support the network by providing volunteers for host sites and the Day Center, supplies and food for the families, and in some cases financial support for families when they graduate our program.

Supportive Services: Family Resource Center aka “Day Center”

Families in our program have access to numerous resources, including but not limited to  job and credit counseling, welfare and legal advocacy, and individual and family therapy – all provided at our Day Center located in Las Vegas.

Rental Support & Aftercare

When families graduate from either our Congregational Network or our Transitional Housing program they are eligible to receive grants for rental support to aid their move into a new home.
