Coronavirus COVID-19

Updated June

Dear Church,

We continue to follow Nevada’s Roadmap to Recovery.

We continue the current online worship.

We also celebrate worship together in-person for 50 or less Saturday 5:30 pm and Sunday 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 am. You must wear a mask. Current worship attendance is 20-30 per service so there is plenty of room to spread out.

Updated May 1

Dear Church,

In regards to getting back to Church business, we are following Nevada’s new Roadmap to Recovery.

  1. We will continue the current online worship style from this point on.
  2. We will begin parking lot worship without communion this weekend at regular worship times. Worshippers must remain in vehicles. This week Music, Pastoral greetings and blessings, LSSN food drop off, and offerings.
  3. We will keep an eye on the weather conditions as it will affect the duration. This weekend 25-35 mph winds are forecast. Temperatures will also be increasing to dangerous levels soon. We need to be aware of interior car temperatures. We need to be aware of worship leaders who will be outside and need shade and cooling. We are making plans for all these issues. We need portable pop-up shade canopies.
  4. We have purchased over $1,500 of PPE arriving in a few weeks: Four touchless sanitizer stations with copious amount of refills; KN95 masks; gloves; as well as the standard sanitizing cleaning supplies.
  5. We will reconfigure the sanctuary seating to reflect the maximum capacity allowed at each stage of the recovery plan. If the capacity is 50 or less, we will add services to spread out attendance. For example: Saturday 5:30 pm, Sunday 8:00-9:00-10:00-11:00 with 35-40 minute services to give time for traffic change over. If the size is limited to 25 we will add even more services at other times.
  6. Holy Communion will resume with indoor worship.
  7. We have removed all songbooks.
  8. We will not use paper bulletins.
  9. We will use stationary offering stands.
  10. When the time comes, the only activity allowed in the buildings will be worship: Ours, Korean and Indian. No other groups or organizations in either building.
  11. We will provide continuous sanitizing before, during and after all services.
  12. Both buildings are clean as we sanitized them before closure and have only allowed a few hours of office time per week for paid staff only.

We will continue to give updates now that things are beginning to change. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Blessings,

Pastor Dave & Pastor Diane

Updated March 13

Dear Friends,

We live in such interesting times! In this age of information overload, one of the more frightening situations is in not having enough information about covid-19. We are constantly checking for recommendations for our church from the health department & CDC as well as local school districts and UNLV. Our Grand Canyon Synod ELCA and our National Church body are also giving current updates.

Christ the Servant is in accord with every recommendation and in fact adopted our new procedures before the current recommendations were even suggested. We will continue the practices we enacted last weekend and will add social distancing to our efforts of providing the proper environment for worship. We will open the Chapel so that you may increase your distance from others as you feel comfortable.

As always, we encourage you to stay home if you are not feeling well or choose not to have physical contact with others at this time.

Please worship with us on our YouTube Channel as we will be adding some special additional worship opportunities starting this weekend. The easiest way to access the channel is to go to the church website www.cslconline.org and click on the link.

You may also continue to give your offering through our website or US Mail or stop by the church office during the week.

We pray God grant you good health and financial well-being during this uncertain time

We Pray God’s Blessings for You.

March 6, 2020

Dear Friends,

We are very aware of the heightened need for assuring a clean, safe environment for public gatherings. This weekend you will notice the new, extra efforts we are making. We have made sure to purchase all the necessary supplies before they ran out at all our local stores. This includes thousands of 70% alcohol wipes. We also encourage touch-free greetings, forgoing handshakes until the threat of illness transmission has subsided. We will also demonstrate new Holy Communion procedures. Perhaps of greatest concern is all the many common surfaces such as door handles. We will have staff on hand during worship to continuously sanitize all handles and common surfaces. We anticipate the many sanitary measures we have added will put you at ease and help you enjoy inspiring, joyful worship in the weeks to come. We also plan to video the Saturday evening worship so it will be available Sunday morning for those of you who are not able to join us in person.

We Pray God’s Blessings for You

Pastor Dave & Pastor Diane
